Directs, manages, and coordinates activities of staff engaged in performing all the Medical Laboratory activities, provides work direction and technical supervision for the laboratory services (all specialties), and also maintains high laboratory standards. Upholds total responsibility of lab test results to MOPH, Medical associations, Doctors, patients, and clients/customers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, such as blood and urine, using a microscope or an automatic analyzer to detect abnormalities or diseases
Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical and electrical devices
Monitor analysis and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs, and narratives
Determine a final diagnosis when abnormal results are found
Examine the blood smear to diagnose any abnormalities
Supervise blood collection from patients and observe principles of asepsis to obtain a blood sample
Read the Mantoux Skin Test to confirm Tuberculosis or BCG vaccination
Supervise quality control results, quality assurance requirements, and established guidelines as per the Lab, Department, or section
Supervise safety policies, universal precautions, and hazardous material management, and waste policies
Approve, sign, and be accountable for all relevant information, specimen requirements & patient results as appropriate
Ensure the most efficient TAT of all lab results and adherence to the promised patient report time.
Validate accuracy of assigned laboratory reports. Verifies that abnormal results have been double checked or investigated and that Critical values are promptly reported to the concerned physicians
Inspect and monitor work in progress to ensure that standard operating procedures and safety precautions are followed
Develop, implement, and maintain established policies and procedures by the AJMS Quality Management System
Recommend outside sources of laboratory services.

Qualifications & Experience:
Medical degree from a recognized institution
Master's Degree or Specialty Certificate in Laboratory Medicine
QCHP License as a Laboratory Doctor in Qatar
