Position Overview
Based at BanoPuratos Factory UAE, in order to further strengthen our R&D team, we are currently seeking:
Jr. R&D Specialist
United Arab Emirates
The ideal candidate will support technically the R&D structure in conducting research and performing lab trials especially in the Bakery and Pastry categories (30%), to report the local business requirements of the market being covered to R&D structure and develop accordingly the needed products in accordance to needs (20%), to support R&D team in managing the local projects and ensure viability and feasibility through the R&D systems (20%), assisting design and development projects for new products, product/process changes and enhancements related testing and trials (30%).
Key Accountabilities

• Maintain and operate standard R&D equipment and practices.
• Perform trials and testing to support product development.
• Prepare samples and ingredients for testing.
• Support ongoing process development and prototyping through R&D studies based on priority and topic relevance.
• Document experiments and results in laboratory notebooks with full traceability.
• Conduct research on identified topics relevant to ongoing R&D projects.
• Ensure strict adherence to relevant safety procedures.
• Report trial findings and establish objectives to drive project closure and sales outcomes.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to report local market trends.
• Conduct benchmarking studies of competitor products.
• Perform routine competitor analysis, focusing on bread improvers and cake mixes.
• Support company goals, objectives, policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain corporate confidentiality at all times.
• Gather market information on trends, competitive activity, and requirements for product development.
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment within the company..

Profile

• 2-5 years of R&D experience, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication/technical abilities.
• Basic applied knowledge and interest in food ingredients and applications.

Competencies

• Excellent communication skills; resilient and results-oriented.
• Basic proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Odoo.
• Strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Effective multitasking skills; able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Analytical skills to effectively manage departmental data.

• Embraces innovation and a mindset focused on renovation.
• Highly adaptable to stress and deadline-driven environments.
