Job Summary
The Jr. Estimation Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for landscaping tenders and projects. You will work closely with senior estimators and project managers to analyze project documentation, perform quantity take-offs, source materials, and prepare bid submission documents, ensuring alignment with company standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Analysis & Preparation:

• Carefully review and analyze tender documents, including Invitations to Tender (ITT), drawings (landscaping, irrigation, grading), specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
• Identify project requirements, potential risks, and technical clarifications needed.

2. Quantity Take-Off (QTO):

• Perform accurate and detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and civil drawings for all landscaping elements:
• Earthworks (cut and fill, grading)
• Hardscape (paving, kerbs, retaining walls, pergolas, furniture)
• Softscape (soil, turf, plants, trees, shrubs)
• Irrigation systems (pipes, valves, controllers, sprinklers)
• Drainage systems
• Outdoor lighting and MEP coordination

3. Cost Estimation & Pricing:

• Source and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and labor.
• Perform market research to stay updated on material prices and availability in the UAE market.
• Assist in calculating unit rates and building up prices for all BOQ items, considering material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Utilize estimation software and Microsoft Excel efficiently for all calculations.

4. Bid Compilation & Submission:

• Assist in the preparation of comprehensive and professional bid proposals.
• Help compile all necessary documentation for tender submissions, including forms, schedules, and technical clarifications.
• Ensure all submissions are completed and delivered before deadlines.

5. Coordination & Reporting:

• Liaise with the project management, design, and procurement teams to ensure estimates are feasible and accurate.
• Provide support to senior estimators in preparing comparison sheets and initial project budgets.
• Maintain a well-organized database of prices, suppliers, and historical cost data.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) is mandatory.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of proven experience in estimation, specifically within the landscaping, construction, or irrigation industry in the UAE.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for viewing and interpreting drawings.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas) are essential.
• Experience with estimation software (e.g., Candy, CCS, or similar) is a strong advantage.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Industry Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of landscaping materials, horticulture species common in the UAE, irrigation systems, and construction methodologies.
• Knowledge of local authority regulations and standards (e.g., DM, ADM, TRAKHEES) is highly desirable.
