Job Title: Structural Engineer - Airport Construction Ref : IQ -STRENG Job Overview: As The structural engineer in airport construction you are tasked with reviewing the design, analyzing, and supervising the construction of airport structures to ensure they meet safety standards, can withstand various loads, and comply with building codes and regulations. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver safe and efficient airport facilities.You will report to the Project Manager The candidate has to provide recommendation letters from previous employers and their CV s will be subject to final approval of the Airport Authority in Iraq. Key Responsibilities: 1. Structural Works Supervision : Review developed structural designs for airport facilities, including ATC, terminal , Utility buildings , bridges, and other structural elements. Ensure designs accommodate expected loads, environmental factors, and future expansion needs. Overview and supervise contruction works on site . 2. Analysis: Review structural analysis and calculations to verify the strength, stability, and durability of airport structures. Use software tools to assess the structural integrity under various conditions. 3. Code Compliance: Ensure all structural designs and construction activities comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations. Stay updated on evolving codes and regulations. 4. Material Selection: Verifyappropriate materials for structural components, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, environmental conditions, are used by the contractor. 5. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural elements seamlessly into airport projects. Collaborate to resolve conflicts and optimize project progress. 6. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to structural specifications. Conduct site inspections and structural assessments. Check and Approve Material Submittals , Method Statements , Samples , Mockups 7. Risk Assessment: Identify potential structural risks and challenges in airport construction projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them. 8. Cost Management: Check contractors payment certificates inline with site progress t. Monitor project expenditures in scope. Qualifications: - Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structural engineering. - 10 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with a focus on airport construction. - Proficiency in structural analysis software and engineering tools. - Strong knowledge of structural design principles, building codes, and industry standards. - Excellent project management skills. - Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. - Attention to detail and commitment to safety and structural integrity. -Proficient in English.
