The IT Manager will oversee all information technology operations for Nauru Medical Centre, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient digital systems that support clinical, administrative, and operational functions. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage infrastructure in a healthcare environment.

IT Officers / Technicians, Support Staff (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Infrastructure & Systems Management
Manage and maintain all IT infrastructure including servers, networks, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
Oversee Electronic Medical Records (EMR), HR, finance, and other hospital information systems.
Ensure smooth operation of hardware (computers, printers, routers, medical equipment interfaces).
2. Cybersecurity & Data Protection
Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols.
Conduct regular backups, system monitoring, and vulnerability assessments.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and secure handling of patient information.
3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Provide Level 2-3 technical support for staff across all departments.
Supervise IT support team in handling daily technical issues.
Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution of system outages.
4. Project Management
Plan and execute IT projects such as system upgrades, EMR enhancements, and infrastructure expansion.
Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies.
Prepare project budgets and timelines.
5. IT Policy & Documentation
Develop IT procedures, SOPs, and operational manuals.
Maintain documentation of networks, configurations, licenses, and inventories.
Provide training to staff on IT systems and cybersecurity.
6. Procurement & Asset Management
Oversee procurement of IT hardware, software, and licenses.
Maintain inventory and lifecycle management of all IT assets.
Ensure cost-effective solutions aligned with the hospital's needs.
7. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
Develop and maintain an IT disaster recovery plan.
Ensure backup systems are tested and functional.
Lead recovery efforts during system failures.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in healthcare or critical service environments.
Strong knowledge of networking, server administration, cybersecurity, and cloud systems.
Experience with EMR/HIS systems is an advantage.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
