As an Income Audit Clerk at a 4-star hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records related to hotel revenue. You will be responsible for performing audits, reconciliations, and analysis of financial data to support the hotel\'s accounting and finance functions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily audits of revenue-generating departments, including rooms, food and beverage, spa, and other outlets, to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
  • Review and reconcile revenue reports, cashiers\' summaries, and other financial documents to ensure proper recording and reporting of revenue and expenses.
  • Identify discrepancies, errors, or irregularities in financial data and investigate root causes, collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare journal entries and adjustments as needed to correct errors or reconcile discrepancies in financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and hotel policies.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports and statements, including revenue summaries, variance analysis, and departmental performance reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation of accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries.
  • Maintain documentation and supporting records for audit purposes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team and other departments to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations, standards, and industry best practices, and incorporate updates into audit procedures and practices.
  • Provide support and assistance to the accounting manager or controller as needed, participating in special projects and initiatives to support the overall financial objectives of the hotel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; additional certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in accounting, auditing, or finance, preferably in the hospitality industry or a similar service-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to large datasets and perform complex calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
