We are currently looking for a HSE Officer to join our Dubai team and will provide essential Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) functions to support large-scale, multi-service, domestic, international, and/or dynamic projects as well as facilities in achieving incident-free objectives and sustainability goals, thereby promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Providing solutions-focused feedback regarding HSSE concerns.
  • Reviewing client HSSE documentation and completing associated questionnaires with supporting documentation.
  • Drafting of project Emergency Response Plan (ERP), HSSE Plans, HSSE Interface documentation,
  • Participating in the completion of the HSSE section for project Kickoff Meeting
  • Coordinating with 3rd party vessel providers, security providers, vendors, and/or subcontractors to obtain necessary HSSE/Assurance documentation for compliance with client and/or Fugro requirements (where required)
  • Conducting training needs assessment based on client and Fugro requirements and supporting project the management team to facilitate necessary training where required
  • Attending project planning meetings as required and providing feedback/discussion criteria related to HSSE elements of the project
  • Facilitating field teams with relevant safety alerts/safety flashes and other safety-related informational documents as warranted
  • Monitoring and promoting compliance with project-related Key Process Indicators (KPIs)
  • Coordinating with project field teams in assisting with incident investigations promptly and elevating incident management accordingly. Assist with the entry of ALL incidents into the HSSE reporting and management database (IMPACT)
  • Routinely visit project worksites and provide HSSE-related support onsite. This includes facilitating HSSE inspections of the project worksite and working with project management, onsite leadership, and/or Project HSSE Advisor I in addressing HSSE-related concerns
  • Support the QHSSE Country Manager who is the Company Representative for Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment.
  • Determine, collect and analyse appropriate data to demonstrate the continuing suitability and effectiveness of the IMS, reporting results to the QHSSE Country Manager to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and the need for change.
  • Attendance as required at external audits, delivering evidence of implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions within required timescales.
  • Ensure corrective, preventive and improvement actions are taken without undue delay to eliminate detected or potential non conformities and their causes. Ensure follow up activities, including verification of effectiveness is undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adequate recording, investigation and handling of incidents and near misses including overseeing adequate management and recording of resulting corrective actions.
  • Assist with compilation and review of Risk Assessments as required
  • Proactively engage in, and encourage others to conduct HSSE Observations, especially when there are changes, new or unusual processes (hazards)
  • Perform regular inspections of working areas and set an example for other staff for adherence to the Management System.
    Job Requirements:
    • High school diploma graduate or equivalent required, Associates degree or equivalent degree preferred
    • Preferable - 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an HSSE-related role, within the offshore energy, survey, environmental, and/or drilling industries
    • Formal qualification in Safety discipline or adequate experience in Safety field e.g. NEBOSH (International) General Certificate, or equivalent.
    • Recognised Internal / Lead Auditor qualification.
      Skills / experience required to do the job:
      • Broad Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 with demonstrable experience of auditing to them.
      • Conversant with Microsoft 360.
      • Strong command of the English language (reading, writing, speaking) additional languages would be an added bonus!
