GCI Contracting is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
HSE Officer
to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across ongoing residential construction projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have strong site-based experience with contracting companies in the UAE and a solid understanding of local HSE laws and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor the company's
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies
on site.
Ensure full compliance with
UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, and other relevant authority regulations
.
Conduct
daily site inspections
, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Prepare and implement
Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS)
, HSE plans, and emergency procedures.
Conduct
toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training
for site staff and subcontractors.
Monitor the use of
PPE
and ensure safe work practices are followed at all times.
Investigate and report
accidents, incidents, and near misses
, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Maintain accurate
HSE records, reports, permits, and safety documentation
.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.
Participate in audits, inspections, and meetings with consultants and authorities.
Monitor environmental controls including waste management, housekeeping, and pollution prevention.
Skills & Competencies Required
Strong knowledge of
construction safety practices
(villas & buildings).
Good understanding of
UAE HSE laws and regulations
.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions promptly.
Strong reporting, documentation, and observation skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple site activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree or Diploma
in Engineering, Safety, or related field.
NEBOSH IGC / IOSH (Mandatory)
Minimum
5-8 years of UAE experience
as an HSE Officer with a reputed contracting company.
Experience in
villa and residential building projects
is mandatory.
