The Role
Our Infrastructure Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced HSE Manager with strong experience in Infrastructure and Heavy Civil Construction projects to join their team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a HSE Manager on large scale infrastructure and heavy civils projects, ideally in the UAE. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked for recognised infrastructure / main contracting companies previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire opportunity, permanently employed by our client. Key Responsibilities: o Develop, implement, and maintain HSE plans, programs, and reports for office and project operations. o Provide technical support, supervision, and task assignments to project HSE managers. o Monitor project sustainability and environmental compliance with legal and contractual requirements. o Advise Sector Managers and Directors on safety performance and improvements. o Deliver HSE training to staff and contractor personnel as needed. o Evaluate and supervise contractor safety performance, qualifications, and programs, including pre-qualification activities. o Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure compliance with company and client standards and regulations. o Review material submittals and method statements for compliance with specifications and environmental best practices. o Collaborate with senior representatives across functional teams, including design, engineering, and construction. o Oversee accident/incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure proper reporting. o Prepare monthly HSE metrics reports and recommend improvements for programs or contractors. o Manage non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented. o Ensure all safety-related technical documents are accurate and up to date. o Oversee environmental performance of contractors and prepare deliverables related to sustainability, waste, water, and natural resources. o Coordinate with medical professionals to ensure worker health and implement early return-to-work programs. o Participate in HSE staff recruitment, performance reviews, and daily management of direct reports. o Provide technical expertise to site management for implementing the QHSE, and sustainability processes. o Ensure environmental and sustainability goals are met during project design and construction. o Review, interpret, and assist with compliance to safety regulations and standards. o Lead accident/incident investigations, identify root causes, and guide reporting to regulatory authorities. o Monitor project safety performance through audits and inspections. o Develop and implement HSE strategy and systems (ISO 45001/14001). o Ensure legal and regulatory compliance (UAE, OSHAD, ADNOC). o Conduct site audits, lead investigations, and manage emergency plans. o Report KPIs and liaise with clients, regulators, and auditors.
