Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans in compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and company policies.
Ensure effective implementation of safety procedures, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and permit-to-work systems for building construction activities.
Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks to promote a safe working environment.
Identify hazards related to construction activities such as excavation, working at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, and formwork, and ensure proper control measures are in place.
Monitor compliance of subcontractors and site personnel with HSE requirements and safe work practices.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain HSE records, registers, and reports including accident statistics, safety observations, and training records.
Coordinate with project management and site teams to ensure HSE integration into daily construction activities.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and site safety signage.
Support emergency response planning, drills, and environmental protection measures on site.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
3-7 years of experience as an HSE Engineer or Safety Officer in building construction projects.
Recognized HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are required.
Strong knowledge of local HSE regulations, international safety standards, and construction best practices.
Experience handling HSE documentation, audits, and client or authority inspections.
