The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across the clinic, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff by upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation
Perform daily cleaning of consultation rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, corridors, and staff facilities.
Sanitize frequently touched surfaces (doorknobs, chairs, counters, equipment, etc.) to maintain infection control.
Handle disposal of clinical and general waste according to clinic protocols.
Ensure floors, windows, and furniture are kept spotless and well-maintained.
Hygiene & Safety
Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines as per healthcare standards.
Use appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants safely.
Maintain cleaning equipment in good condition and report any malfunctions.
Restock consumables such as tissues, sanitizers, soap, and toilet paper.
Support Functions
Assist in preparing consultation rooms for patients by ensuring they are clean and organized.
Provide support during clinic operations by responding promptly to urgent cleaning needs (e.g., spills, accidents).
Coordinate with administrative and nursing staff for housekeeping requests.
Compliance & Reporting
Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines.
Keep records of cleaning schedules, tasks completed, and supplies used.
Report hazards, damages, or safety concerns immediately.
Requirements
Education & Experience
High school .
Prior experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare/clinic/hospital setting.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and materials.
Awareness of infection control and hygiene standards in a healthcare environment.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform manual cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Stamina to carry out physically demanding work.
