The Role:
As the face of our restaurant, the Host/Hostess plays a critical role in creating a positive and welcoming first impression. You are responsible for greeting guests, managing the flow of the dining room, coordinating with the serving team, and ensuring a seamless experience from the moment a guest walks in until they leave.
Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Service:
• Greet all guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor as they arrive.
• Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and inform them of their server's name.
• Answer incoming phone calls, take reservations, and provide accurate information about the restaurant.
• Manage the waitlist during busy periods, providing accurate wait times and seating guests promptly.
• Thank guests as they depart and invite them to return.
• Reservation & Seating Management:
• Manage the reservation book and seating chart efficiently to maximize table turnover and server rotation.
• Monitor dining room availability to ensure timely seating.
• Accommodate special guest needs (e.g., high chairs, booster seats, accessibility requirements).
• Team Coordination:
• Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and managers regarding table status, guest needs, and wait times.
• Notify the serving team when their section has been seated.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, and wait areas.
• Administrative Tasks:
• Accurately process take-out orders as needed.
• Handle cash and card transactions for take-out orders or to-go items.
• May assist in updating wait times on digital platforms.

Qualifications & Skills:

• No prior experience required; we will train the right person! (Or: Previous host/hostess or customer service experience is a plus.)
• Except interpersonal and communication skills.
• A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Must be a team player and reliable.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
