Our client, a leading asset manager in Abu Dhabi are currently working exclusively with us to source a Head of FP&A for their growing finance function. This a new role, reporting to the Finance Director, managing a team of two and will be responsible to manage the financial planning and analysis for a USD1 billion asset.
Purpose
Manage the financial forecast and analysis of the operating performance quarterly to inform management on the progress and effectiveness of strategic plans and performance. Work closely with the business to formulate and refine the strategy and financial projections for the business
Duties

Prepare financial statements, budgets and forecast
Develop and update quarterly management reports to be presented to Senior Leadership
Interact with key Finance personnel at asset level for monthly and quarterly balance reconciliations as well as transfer of fixed assets
Ensure the Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Asset functions are running efficiently through monthly and quarterly reconciliations
Develop detailed knowledge of the, strategy of the Project, including its complex governance and structure
Develop detailed expertise in the various foundation documents and agreements currently governing the project and company strategy
Contribute to improving the internal control environment that would benefit the organization in the future
Prepare internal reports for executive leadership and supporting their decision making
Compare historical results against budgets and forecasts, and performing variance analysis to explain differences in performance and make improvements going forward
Prepare financial and business-related analysis and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments
Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data
Oversee assets strategic financial performance, including annual budget and revenue generation and cost optimization and recommend any actions to recover overruns so that the asset is in line with the established strategy and plan
Provide insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts, and profitability
Prepare business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions
Analyse financial and operational results to better understand company performance
Produce models to project long term growth and determine the impacting business factors
Client requirements:
12-15 years finance experience predominantly within FP&A
Currently working within a comparable size business. Our client is open to industry, however, the organisation should be a leader in its class
Highly analytical with the ability to put a story on the numbers to facilitate management decision making
Superb stakeholder management skills: the selected candidate will have a fine balance of assertiveness and diplomacy and should be able to influence at a senior level
CIMA or CMA qualified would be highly advantageous for this role, however, other accounting qualifications will be acceptable
Superb English communication skills
