Job Description

The Head of Accounts will oversee the financial operations of the company. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial planning. The Head of Accounts will manage the accounting team, maintain financial records, prepare financial statements, and provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Financial Management:



- Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.

- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports and statements to senior management.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:



- Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with department heads.

- Monitor budgetary performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.

- Provide financial forecasts to support strategic planning.

3. Compliance and Auditing:



- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.

- Coordinate and manage external audits, liaising with auditors and preparing audit schedules.

- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

4. Team Leadership:



- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in daily activities.

- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to enhance team capabilities.

- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

5. Financial Strategy:



- Support the CFO in financial planning and analysis, contributing to long-term financial strategy.

- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

- Advise management on financial implications of business activities and decisions.

6. Reporting and Analysis:



- Generate accurate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by management.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field Proficiency in accounting software Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Internationally recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA). At least 8 years of experience in accounting or financial management Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
