Job Description
Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently looking for a GIS Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi office for a permanent contract.
The successful candidate must be able to:

- Should performs desktop study using satellite imagery, topographic survey data and DTM
- Should perform 3D, Spatial and Network Analysis in any 2 GIS products
- Should be able to create heatmaps, constraint maps
- Should be able to supply GIS inputs/outputs according to inter-disciplinary request
- Should be able to individually develop solutions, bespoke software using Visual Studio
- Should be able to perform GIS Mapping, Topology clean-up using various GIS/CAD software
- Should be able to prepare Contours, Spot heights and Elevation/Terrain-Models
- Knowledge of python, java scripts for automation is essential
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office products, Google Earth is essential
- Knowledge of Remote Sensing software is preferable
- Knowledge of at least 2 database is essential, one of then a commercially available database (preferably MS SQL) and another an Open source database (preferably PostgreSQL)
Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Geomatics / Civil Engineering / Geoscience /Mathematics
- Minimum 5 year relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
- Should have exposure in Onshore Oil & Gas domain, offshore knowledge would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of a commercial GIS software (Preferable ESRI suite of products), an Open-source GIS software (preferably QGIS), and a CAD software (preferably AutoCAD) is essential
- Should perform Pipeline Routing study, route analysis and risk evaluation
- Knowledge of Alignment sheet generation and its automation is preferable
- Preparation of crossing schedules, MTO extraction for various disciplines
- Knowledge of PODS Data model, creation and population of data is essential
- Shall be able to aid in site visit, data collection and data validation
- Knowledge of Topographical surveying, Remote sensing, Satellite Image Processing are essential
