first in-house Accountant

to help transform our financial processes into a fully organized and professional system.

Role Summary

We are looking for a reliable and experienced

General Accountant

who can independently manage the company's full accounting cycle. The ideal candidate will set up proper accounting procedures, maintain accurate records, ensure Bahrain VAT compliance, and provide clear financial insights to management.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and implement a complete accounting system and chart of accounts Handle daily bookkeeping, journal entries, and financial records Manage accounts payable and receivable Prepare employee payroll and maintain salary records Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Ensure compliance with Bahrain VAT laws and submit VAT returns Maintain proper documentation and organize historical financial data Assist in implementing accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, Tally, Odoo, etc.) Provide management with accurate financial data to support decision-making Work closely with the owner during the business transformation process

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience (small business experience preferred) Strong knowledge of Bahrain VAT regulations Experience setting up or organizing an accounting system is a strong advantage Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function Good communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus
