We are looking for a GENERAL ACCOUNTANT- She would be working alongside our senior accounts lady who is based remote. There will be a few admin and HR tasks involved. You must be in Dubai. Office is located in Al Khabaisi, Dubai.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated General Accountant who can independently manage the company's entire accounting cycle--from day-to-day bookkeeping to finalization of accounts. The ideal candidate will also prepare accurate sales reports, cash flow projections, and perform cost accounting to support project profitability and management decision-making in an interior fit-out environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Management

Handle end-to-end accounting operations, including journal entries, ledgers, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.

Maintain and update accounting records in accordance with IFRS/GAAP and company policies.

Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Oversee bank reconciliations, petty cash, and expense management.

2. Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and present monthly management reports, including variance analysis and performance summaries.

Generate sales reports, project profitability statements, and cash flow projections for management review.

Develop and monitor budget vs. actual comparisons to support financial planning.

3. Cost Accounting & Project Control

Maintain accurate cost tracking for ongoing interior fit-out projects.

Allocate and monitor direct and indirect project costs to ensure profitability.

Work closely with project managers to analyze job costing, material usage, and labor efficiency.

Assist in pricing, tendering, and cost estimation for new projects.

4. Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements.

Liaise with external auditors, banks, and government authorities as required.

Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions and audits.

5. Systems & Process Improvement

Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP systems.

Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA/ACCA preferred).

5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the interior fit-out or construction industry.

Strong knowledge of project-based accounting and cost control.

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems).

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Familiarity with UAE VAT (or relevant regional tax laws, if applicable).
