Job Description

We're looking for our client, a General Accountant who will work hand to hand with the CEO and build the strategy together.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced General Accountant to join the company in the UAE. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), UAE tax regulations including VAT and Corporate Tax, and proficiency in accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transactions Manage and maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are up to date Prepare and post journal entries, payment vouchers, and bank reconciliations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and timely Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures within established deadlines Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UAE regulations Prepare annual audit files and financial analyses Generate detailed financial reports for management review

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations and requirements Prepare and submit VAT returns within legal deadlines Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax requirements Maintain accurate documentation for tax and regulatory audits Stay updated on changes in UAE tax and accounting legislation

Analysis & Controls

Perform financial analysis and variance reporting Participate in improving internal processes and controls Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting Conduct regular account reconciliations and reviews

Required Qualifications & Skills Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (mandatory) Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CIMA (highly preferred)

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in general accounting Experience in the United Arab Emirates is highly desirable Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations

Technical Skills

Fluent English (written and spoken) - mandatory , French will be very appreciate Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently under minimal supervision High ethical standards and integrity Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

UAE-Specific Knowledge

In-depth understanding of IFRS accounting standards as applied in the UAE Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations (5% standard rate, registration requirements, filing procedures) Familiarity with UAE Corporate Tax requirements Understanding of financial reporting requirements for UAE companies Knowledge of Free Zone regulations and their specific requirements (an asset)
