Samaya Hotel is currently looking to hire a
General Accountant
to join the Finance Department. The ideal candidate must have relevant hotel experience and knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Review all hotel revenue reports and ensure postings are as per accounting standards.
Ensure VAT, Municipality, and Service Charges are calculated correctly in the system.
Review and balance rebates, voids, paid outs, negative postings, and miscellaneous charges.
Audit DTCM portal reports with the front office for Tourism Dirhams accuracy.
Handle credit card and bank reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner.
Transfer revenues from Opera to Sun System and post them accurately.
Deposit guest and client cheques or cash in the bank on time.
Import and post supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
Prepare VAT returns and submit them to the Senior Accountant.
Verify that all invoices are supported by approved purchase orders and required documents.
Maintain organized vendor files and ensure up-to-date filing.
Process all accounts payable invoices and manual cheques through the system.
Follow up on vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel accounting.
Strong knowledge of hotel systems (Opera, Sun System preferred).
Familiar with UAE VAT laws and financial procedures.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Fluent in English.
