Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, including familiarity with SOX, GAAP, IFRS, and various accounting software. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial management, analysis, and reporting for our organization.

Duties

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely processing and reconciliation. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain integrity of financial data. Perform regulatory reporting as required by governmental agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws. Manage cash flow through effective cash management practices and forecasting. Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets and perform financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management. Prepare payroll and ensure accurate recording of payroll-related transactions. Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred. Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles, with a focus on non-profit or governmental accounting preferred. Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including double entry bookkeeping, budgeting, financial report writing, and cash management. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Demonstrated understanding of technical accounting issues related to various industries.
