Context:

Veolia Middle East started a new contract, to operate and maintain two industrial Waste Treatment Facilities (IWTF) in Ruwais (Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates) with around 200 employees.

The Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility (HWTF or BeAAT) includes TDU, deoiling tricanter, Stabilization, Class I and II landfill, PCT, mercury treatment unit, and Incineration lines with a capacity around 60 KTA;

The Natural Occurring Radioactive Materials Treatment Facility (NORM) is a new 6,5 KTA decontamination facility, including a high pressure water descaling system, incineration and encapsulation of ashes.

Job Position Summary:

You will play a key role in the financial management of Magma O&M. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing financial performance, and providing strategic financial insights to support the project\'s success.

The position will be located in Ruwais (2.5 hours drive from Abu Dhabi), Direct Report - Senior Accounts officer.

Job Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead month/year-end close activities (validating with other departments accrual needed for Open POs of services received, utilities consumption, annual fixed/variable contracts with suppliers, prepayments/advances schedule update, fixed asset continuity schedules, etc\xe2\x80\xa6).
  • Communicate with Veolia head office and other Veolia entities: respond to queries and questions, reconcile intercompany transactions, lead and coordinate support on various areas (ERP, HSBC, Operations Tool, Commercial Tool, etc\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • Ownership and preparation of Key Reports: Vector, BI, Veolia Monthly reporting (Google Slides & Google sheets), Veolia Cash Flow Forecast, Commex Reporting, Finance Reports to other shareholders, ICV data preparation.
  • IFRS -16 accounting (familiarity with Veolia\'s templates/lease tool/reporting is preferential).
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure success through cost analysis support and compliance with all contractual requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of corporate tax returns.
  • Communicate with the VAT consultant and challenge/defend the company\'s position (in addition to preparing/filing periodic VAT Returns).
  • Lead/Assist in the implementation/interface between VAMS and BC.
  • Support audit engagements (external & Internal): organize and oversee in accordance with the audit plan (in addition to providing explanations as required).
  • Prepare and Update Accounting policies and procedures as required.
  • Ensure that the laws (related to finance, fiscal and legal matters) and International Accounting Standards are properly applied.
  • Implement and ensure that all finance functions/controls are performed in accordance with best practice, sound financial principles, company policy, company procedures, legal and contractual compliance at all times, including internal & external audit processes to mitigate financial risks.
  • Review/Analyze payroll and prepare payroll reports as per requirements (ensuring compliance with HR policy) and Veolia\'s reporting standards (splitting SG&A Vs CoS and EoS treatment, etc\xe2\x80\xa6).
  • Undertake any other reasonable work or related task at the request of the CFO.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance or Accounting, a professional accounting qualification or equivalent is nice to have.
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience for a manufacturing/industrial company with prior managerial experience of at least 1-2 years.
Experience Requirements:
  • Can-Do attitude with problem solving mindset.
  • Ability to effectively and actively communicate with various stakeholders (senior management, staff, suppliers, related parties, government officials, advisors/consultants, shareholders, etc\xe2\x80\xa6).
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Aptitude to own and honor assigned deliverables/tasks (entrepreneurship).
  • Comfortable to perform within a small team with dynamic working conditions.
  • Ability to summarize/synthesize issues/findings and propose actions/plans.
  • Advanced skills in Excel with elements of Google Suite
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
