Job SummaryThe Facade Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and construction oversight of the external building envelope for complex, high-rise projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, material science knowledge, and strong collaboration skills to ensure the facade is structurally sound, energy-efficient, and aesthetically aligned with the architect's vision. Key Responsibilities

Design and Engineering

Prepare facade design drawings, specifications, and calculations for a variety of systems, including unitized and stick curtain walls, cladding, glazing, and composite panels. Perform structural, thermal, and acoustic analysis to ensure the facade systems meet performance criteria and international building codes (e.g., ASTM, BS, EN, AAMA). Develop and review detailed shop drawings, coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration. Evaluate and advise on material selection based on performance, durability, sustainability, and cost. Conduct research on design options and new technologies, providing technical support for material mock-ups and prototypes.

Project Coordination and Collaboration

Act as the primary technical point of contact for the facade, collaborating with all project stakeholders, including consultants, architects, contractors, and subcontractors. Attend design coordination meetings to discuss and resolve technical issues related to the building envelope. Review architectural drawings to identify discrepancies or potential constructability challenges.

Site Supervision and Quality Assurance

Oversee the fabrication, installation, and testing of all facade systems on-site. Conduct regular inspections to ensure that construction and workmanship comply with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and inspection and test plans (ITPs). Witness performance testing, such as for air and water tightness, and recommend remedial actions for any deficiencies. Manage and resolve on-site technical issues and installation challenges in a timely and effective manner.

Sustainability and Performance

Ensure the facade design contributes to the building's overall energy efficiency, sustainability goals, and compliance with certifications like LEED. Focus on fire safety, ensuring all facade works meet fire resistance and spread-of-flame standards

Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month
