Job Description
We are currently looking for Engineering Performance Manager - MEA Region based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Main Purpose of Role: To act as the owner, champion and focal point for Engineering Performance in the MEA & Europe Regions, constantly working to assure and improve the quality and efficiency of engineering delivery Responsibilities:
- Maintain, improve and update Penspen’s “Engineering Book of Knowledge” (EBOK)* as required
- Ensure that EBOK content is used to its full extent in the development of project deliverables
- Ensure that the Technical Discipline Authorities deliver their roles in Engineering Performance, focusing on utilization and continuous improvement of EBOK content
- Redefine Engineering execution models and implement innovative methods to improve efficiency.
- Ensure that Engineering Quality Audits are undertaken in accordance with the Engineering Quality procedures, Audit Reports issued, actions are added to Penspens Performance Improvement Reporting System and closed out and that the Engineering Performance Master Tracker is kept updated.
- Ensure that Engineering Quality procedures are kept updated and revised where necessary to reflect the development of working practices. This includes procedures, standard specifications, working methods, calculation methods, etc.
- Issue quarterly EBOK reports to the Project Sponsor, stating utilization, benefits, and ongoing developments.
- Ensure that a norms database is developed and regularly reviewed, including quantification of the benefits of EBOK content
- Hold regular meetings with the TDAs and engineering community to inform on EBOK updates, provide training where required, and discuss improvement needs.
- Lead by example in applying QHSE and ethical policies and procedures.
- EBOK is Penspen’s suite of Engineering Procedures, Standards, Specifications, Calculation Sheets to support efficient, consistent and reliable project delivery.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (minimum)
- Chartered Engineer (preferred)
- 15 years+ multi-disciplinary engineering experience in the energy sector, with practical exposure to the EPC sector.
- Excellent technical background in the FEED and detailed design.
- Experience in design that minimizes environmental impact.
- Ability to effectively manage and direct lead multi-disciplinary professionals working under pressure to deadlines and be able to prioritize own and others workload, interfacing with other discipline staff as required to accomplish the task / project.
- High level leadership skills with the ability to lead effectively, and to motivate and influence others to adopt company and department objectives.
- Strong analytical ability to focus on schedule and commercial goals relating to progress, revenue, cost and profit.
- Driven, committed, self-motivated, results oriented and dedicated to achieving high standards.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to be able to work and coordinate effectively with Clients, Contractors and internal staff in a multi-cultural environment.
- Sound knowledge of cost analysis and other financial aspects of contract management.
