Job Description
The Director of the Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity (CEC) is responsible for leading and managing the Center\'s activities, programs, and initiatives that support cybersecurity education, and outreach. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan for the center that aligns with the organization\'s mission and goals. They will work closely with stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, and external partners to promote cybersecurity and advance knowledge in the field. The Director will also be a member of the AUBH faculty and will have some limited teaching responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity.
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners to develop and deliver programs and initiatives that support cybersecurity, education, and outreach.
- Develop and manage the Center\'s budget and resources.
- Develop and implement marketing and communication plans to promote the center\'s programs and initiatives.
- Foster and maintain relationships with external partners, including industry leaders, government agencies, and other organizations that support cybersecurity education, and outreach.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff and students involved in the Center\'s programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure the success and impact of the Center\'s programs and initiatives.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the Center and represent it at conferences, events, and other relevant forums.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by management including teaching courses related to cybersecurity.
- Graduate degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field is required.
- Professional certification in a related field is desirable.
- Minimum of five years of experience in developing and delivering cybersecurity programs and initiatives.
- Experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Experience in developing/managing budgets and hiring, developing, supervising, and appraising personnel.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills with peers, leadership, and external constituents, including the business community.
- A self-starter, detail-oriented, enjoys a fast-paced work environment with multiple projects going at the same time.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate leadership aligned with AUBH core values of integrity, engagement, excellence, and desire to make a difference.
- A strong understanding of cybersecurity, including knowledge of threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management.
