Job Description
The Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is responsible for leading and managing the Center\'s activities, programs, and initiatives that support entrepreneurship and innovation. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan for the Center that aligns with the organization\'s mission and goals. They will work closely with stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, and external partners to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. The Director will also be a member of the AUBH faculty and will have some limited teaching responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities include:
Requirements Qualifications and Experience required:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners to develop and deliver programs and initiatives that support entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Develop and manage the Center\'s budget and resources, including fundraising and grant writing.
- Develop and implement marketing and communication plans to promote the Center\'s programs and initiatives.
- Foster and maintain relationships with external partners, including entrepreneurs, investors, and other organizations that support entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff and students involved in the Center\'s programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure the success and impact of the Center\'s programs and initiatives.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the Center and represent it at conferences, events, and other relevant forums.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by management including teaching courses related to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Requirements Qualifications and Experience required:
- Graduate degree in a related field is required.
- Professional certification in a related field is desirable.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role within an entrepreneurship center or a startup is preferred.
- A good track record of success in developing and delivering entrepreneurship programs and initiatives and be able to manage resources effectively.
- Experience in developing/managing budgets and hiring, developing, supervising, and appraising personnel.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills with peers, leadership, and external constituents, including the business community.
- A self-starter, detail-oriented, enjoys a fast-paced work environment with multiple projects going at the same time.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate leadership aligned with AUBH core values of integrity, engagement, excellence, and desire to make a difference.
- Strong understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation, and the startup ecosystem.
- Ability to focus and foster on three main functions: Ideation, academic program support, and enterprise and product development.
