The Oracle Research & Development Morocco is Oracle's first R&D location on the African continent. This exciting opportunity focuses on building and nurturing relationships with key government entities, R&D partners, Higher Education to drive Oracle's R&D expansion into Morocco and the rest of the African continent.

As a Director, Business Development with Oracle Research & Development Morocco, you will be part of the world's most complete, open and integrated business software and hardware Systems Company.

Responsibilities

Facilitate access and collaboration with universities, vocational schools, NGOs to promote computer science education, and in particular adoption of Oracle technology and certification programs

Enhance existing relationships within high-ranking officials within government entities, public and private sector to establish joint collaboration, promotion and adoption of Oracle technologies.

Promote adoption of Oracle Cloud within the strategic customers and government entities as it relates to Oracle R&D program in the region.

Work with a cross-functional group of colleagues on relevant issues for Oracle, including R&D teams, government affairs, real estate and facilities, and Sales teams.

Understand government and public/private Education organization funding to maximize Oracle's share of potential benefits including structuring agreement in line with Oracle's business practices and follow through the lifecycle from establishment of agreement to collection of benefits.

Ensure appropriate company participation in government forums and industry group meetings.

Requirements:

Ideal candidate must be experienced in managing executive level relationships with different branches of government and private sector

A proven track record of driving multiple initiatives at the same time.

Ability to work with colleagues across departments and organizations across different time zones.

Work with leaders of government and industry to monitor government initiatives and advocate for specific plans to advance the company's objectives.

Experience building and managing executive relationships

Experience fostering collaborative teams, communicating and managing accountability, attracting talent, and motivating staff, and supporting career growth for individuals Implement programmatic marketing plans, ensuring resources are allocated to achieve business objectives.

The Business Development Group Manager will be an integral member of the BDG Leadership Team and the ideal candidate will: Have managed both revenue and non-revenue producing functions in the IT industry with clients and prospects across Morocco and the region. Demonstrate knowledge and trends of the cloud-based applications space. Exemplify personal drive, determination, process excellence, and the highest of ethical standards. Have a proven track record in growing existing account base and the ability to drive new teams to build solid relationships and to position new products to market. Have proven personal success in sales or deep working knowledge of sales cycle processes. Are strategic in their approach to recruiting, hiring, training, and managing reps with a formalised sales process and informally across various functional teams. Care about their customers best interests and acts as an internal advocate for the Business Development Group.

Qualifications: Proven team builder and motivator with previous experience in successful people management within a sales relationship management environment. Excellent coaching skills. Strong understanding of business, how government make decisions and the power of understanding influences decisions makers etc. Budgeting, forecasting & business planning experience. Proven ability to align other departments within their organisations to deliver revenue and sales growth. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and persuasive skills essential. 15+ years' experience in Sales/Business Development management Fluency in English is essential and a second language is favourable.

Manages a team that engages in business development strategies and programs in support of Oracle's Sales Organization.

Manages, through lower-level managers, a team of business development consultants. Team is responsible for developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory, industry, product segment or channel. Participates as a team member in strategic and tactical planning for the division. With guidance from the senior director or vice president, oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity and identification of customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff. Participates in the recruiting process and makes hiring decisions. Manages budget. Provides support to marketing and sales programs. Participates in implementation of organizational changes in line with changing business and market.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Business management experience, and Marketing/Business Development experience in the high-tech industry preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills. 5-7 years previous people management experience. Professional credentials in Marketing. Academic credentials desirable. Working knowledge of business development job. Thorough understanding of Oracle's products and services. Ability to lead a team in all areas of strategic business development. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong quantitative, analytical, and conflict resolution ability.
