Job Summary:
We are looking for a
proactive and customer-oriented Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer
with a strong technical foundation and a background in
sales or customer engagement
. The ideal candidate will provide first-level IT support to end-users while identifying opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, promote IT solutions, and support business growth through their sales acumen.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Support:
Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral device problems.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and user accounts.
Respond promptly to support tickets, calls, and emails in a professional manner.
Escalate unresolved technical issues to Level 2/3 support teams when necessary.
Maintain accurate documentation of issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
Understand client requirements and recommend suitable IT products or services.
Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical pre-sales support and product demonstrations.
Identify potential
upselling or cross-selling opportunities
during support interactions.
Build and maintain positive client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Work closely with the sales and account management teams to support business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in
Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
.
1-2 years of experience
in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or similar technical roles.
Prior
sales or customer-facing experience
is highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of
Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking
concepts.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with
ticketing systems
(e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk).
Basic understanding of
IT products, licensing, and networking
.
Experience using
remote support tools
.
Sales certifications or training
will be an added advantage.
