1. Develop, implement and maintain operational standards to a level of excellence throughout the store, in line with company policies and procedures
2. Monitor and continuously seek to understand commercial environment, local trading patterns, competitor activity and market trends in the retail sector and their impact in store
3. Maintain strict levels of confidentiality with regard to all areas of the business particularly commercial information and personal details of employees
4. Carry out regular and relevant in-store training, audits and enrol staff on relevant Learning and Development courses
5. Provide a safe and clean store environment for employees and customers
6. Monitor sales performance against last year, last week and budget on a daily and weekly basis and communicate to staff
7. Monitor handling of customer complaints in line with Company policy and seek regular feedback
8. Set, monitor and continually seek to improve customer service standards within the store
9. Implement and maintain a relevant induction program in line with company policy
10. Maintain high standards of visual appearance throughout the store including all non-retail areas
11. Maintain a high level of store security for company assets, cash, stock and employee property
12. Ensure seasonal peaks and important trading/promotional events are taken account of when preparing forecasts and staff rosters
13. Exhibit and promote high standards of internal customer care
14. Optimise the use of support resources, including the Visual Merchandisers, Cashiers, Sales Staff, Back store staff etc
15. Operate an effective stock management/Back store management system to maximise sales and profitability
16. Participate and contribute in monthly/quarterly/annual business reviews with quality suggestions and its implementation
17. Take on territory / concept specific projects for betterment of self and business development
18. To work closely with Asst Manager / Manager of the store to drive business as per requirements
19. To learn and practice other functions of retail management e.g. cashiering, stock management, team performance management etc
