Dental Nurse/Assistant
Job Summary:
A Dental Nurse or Assistant works closely with the dentist in a dental clinic or hospital, providing chair-side assistance and performing key clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient and smooth dental procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

• Chair-side Assistance: Prepare the dental surgery for specific procedures and assist the dentist during examinations, restorations, extractions, and surgeries by passing instruments, handling materials, and operating suction devices.
• Infection Control: Sterilize and disinfect all dental instruments and equipment. Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment.
• Patient Preparation: Seat patients, prepare them for treatment, and ensure their comfort throughout the procedure.
• Radiography: Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
• Material Preparation: Prepare dental materials, such as cements, composites, and impression materials.
• Inventory Management: Manage clinical supplies, order new stock, and ensure all materials are within expiry date.
• Record Keeping: Record patient notes and treatment information as directed by the dentist. Manage appointment scheduling and patient recall systems.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative instructions and general oral hygiene education.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A diploma or certificate in Dental Nursing/Assisting from an accredited institution.
• Valid DHA license as a Dental Nurse/Assistant.
• Previous experience in a dental clinic is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and materials.
• Proficiency in dental radiography techniques is often required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, reassuring manner.
