We are seeking a talented and dedicated Chef de Partie to manage a specific section of our kitchen. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for the daily preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to execute menu items efficiently and consistently, contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations.
What you will do:
Manage and oversee a specific kitchen section (e.g., Larder, Sauce, Pastry, Grill), ensuring all mis en place is prepared accurately and on time.
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, standards, and plating guidelines set by the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet the restaurant's high standards before being served.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Manage inventory for your section, minimize waste, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and commis chefs, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Collaborate effectively with other kitchen team members and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Contribute to menu development and innovation where appropriate.
Handle pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and efficiency.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef de Partie.
Formal culinary training or a culinary degree is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality food.
Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
