This role combines analytical cost and value engineering to support design and delivery teams in achieving financial, functional, and sustainability objectives. It involves aligning cost and value goals, tracking performance, implementing approved value engineering initiatives, and ensuring compliance with client standards and authority requirements.
Key responsibilities
Cost Management and Control
Develop project cost estimates, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts during concept, design, and construction stages.
Track cost performance against approved budgets and identify potential overruns or savings.
Conduct cost trend and variance analyses to align with management decisions.
Evaluate contractor and consultant cost proposals for technical and commercial compliance.
Maintain accurate cost databases and compare data for the company's projects.
Value Engineering & Optimization
Actively participate in VE sessions during planning and design stages to identify innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
Review design alternatives and life-cycle costs to guide material, system, and construction choices that maximize value and performance.
Create and present clear value improvement proposals that emphasize cost savings and performance benefits to support informed decision-making.
Work closely with design consultants to integrate VE insights into the design and prepare detailed reports for client review and approval.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
(Master's preferred).
5-10 years of experience in
cost or value engineering
roles within major achitectural projects.
Proficiency in
cost management software
(CostX, or equivalent) and
project planning tools
(Primavera P6, MS Project).
Knowledge of UAE construction market rates, procurement practices, and infrastructure standards.
