As a

Cost and Estimation Engineer

in the

lighting industry

, you will play a key role in the financial planning and execution of lighting projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive bids, and ensuring the cost-effectiveness of engineering solutions. Your role will involve detailed analysis of project specifications, close collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the creation of comprehensive cost breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze project plans, technical specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates. Develop and submit accurate and competitive project bids and proposals. Identify and assess cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor. Collaborate with engineering, sales, procurement, and project management teams to gather required inputs and insights. Monitor project expenditures and budgets throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with cost projections. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering without compromising quality or performance. Maintain and update a database of suppliers, pricing, and historical cost information for future reference. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure competitive pricing. Assist in the design phase to ensure cost-effective and practical lighting solutions are implemented. Support procurement by recommending optimal vendors and negotiating cost-effective purchasing options. Prepare and present cost reports, estimates, and risk assessments to internal stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications and Skills: Lighting industry experience Mandatory

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Proven experience (3+ years) in cost estimation, preferably within the lighting, Strong understanding of lighting systems, electrical components, and industry standards. Proficiency in estimation software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
