. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all contractual, legal, and commercial matters of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms, minimizing risks, and optimizing project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, interpret, and manage project contracts, subcontracts, and related legal documents.
Act as the main point of contact for contractual matters between the company, clients (major developers), consultants, and subcontractors.
Ensure full compliance with FIDIC and other applicable contract standards commonly used in UAE construction projects.
Monitor contract performance, identify variations, claims, and disputes, and provide strategic advice to resolve issues.
Prepare, review, and submit contractual correspondences, notices, and claims including Extension of Time (EOT), prolongation costs, and loss & expense claims.
Assist in the preparation and negotiation of subcontracts and vendor agreements.
Support the commercial team in budget monitoring, cash flow forecasting, and cost control activities.
Represent the company during meetings, negotiations, and discussions with developers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Work closely with the planning and technical teams to align contractual obligations with construction activities.
Maintain contract records, change control logs, and ensure proper documentation is kept for audits and claims.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (RICS or similar certifications preferred).
Minimum
10-15 years of experience
, with
at least 5 years in the UAE
managing contracts on
high-rise building projects
.
Solid experience working
for a contractor
on projects commissioned by
tier-one developers
(e.g., Emaar, Nakheel, Meraas, DAMAC, etc.).
Strong understanding of
FIDIC forms of contract
, UAE construction law, and local authority procedures.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
Proficiency in contract management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
High attention to detail, strategic thinking, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Professional certification in Contract Management (e.g., MRICS, PMP, CCP).
Knowledge of legal procedures related to construction disputes and arbitration.
UAE Driving License.
