JOB SUMMARY
As a Commis Chef, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen team, assisting in the preparation and cooking of dishes while ensuring the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. You will work closely with senior chefs to learn and develop your culinary skills, contributing to the creation of memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
Ensure consistency and quality in every dish served.
Prepare the daily production as per the recipe and required standards
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning, according to standardized recipes and instructions
Station Management:
Manage the cooking and presentation of food for your designated station.
Maintain equipment and ensure its proper use and cleanliness.
Manage and maintain a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and ingredients are organized and readily accessible.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all dishes leaving the section are of the highest quality, properly cooked, and visually appealing Organize coolers and freezers according to food safety standard
Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure it meets the restaurant's standards.
Implement quality control measures and address any issues promptly.
Check if all equipment is in working condition, fill in cooler & freezer temperature log and takes action when needed.
Inventory Management:
Assist in ordering and managing supplies for your station.
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and minimize wastage.
Follow procedure regarding proper rotation, dating, labelling, and covering
Health and Safety:
Adhere to hygiene and food safety regulations.
Ensure that all health and safety practices are followed in your area.
Maintain the sanitary standards and "Clean as you go" policy.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
Break down food after production and end of shift.
Follow procedures with the use of cleaning supplies.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely production and service of orders
Mentor and train junior kitchen staff on culinary techniques and kitchen procedures.
Qualifications:
Valid Visa (Tourist Visa Not acceptable)
Minimum 2 year of similar experience in kitchen
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
Proven experience as a chef or similar in a high-volume culinary environment.
Must have previous experience working in hot kitchens in Dubai.
Strong knowledge of ingredients, Flavors, and cooking techniques.
Creative flair and passion for creating exceptional dishes that exceed customer expectations.
Relevant culinary certifications and food safety training are advantageous.
Good command in English and knowledge in food techniques
Food safety and hygiene, quality control, inventory management is a MUST.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. Ability to handle feedback constructively and maintain composure under pressure.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate should have European & English cuisine experience.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively within a diverse team
Must have basic food safety certificates & knowledge of using Food watch & all kitchen safety paperwork.
Advanced proficiency in grill station and saute (pan) work, with a solid understanding of international culinary techniques
Skilled in knife work, and butchery techniques for efficient ingredient preparation
Expertise in modern culinary methods and handling specialized kitchen equipment
In-depth knowledge of HACCP standards, kitchen hygiene protocols, and food safety regulations
