Commis Chef - Culinary Preparation and Kitchen Support (QE2 Hotel Dubai)
Role Purpose
The Queen Elizabeth II (QE2) Hotel Dubai is seeking a Commis Chef to support kitchen operations and contribute to high-quality food preparation. In this full-time role, you will assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily tasks including mise en place, buffet setups, stock control, and maintaining hygiene standards. This position is ideal for passionate culinary professionals looking to grow in a historic and dynamic hospitality environment.

Your Key Contributions

• Assist in the daily preparation of ingredients and mise en place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Work across different kitchen sections and support buffet or event setups
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and organization throughout the shift
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards according to hotel policies
• Support food stock rotation and inventory checks
• Coordinate with chefs to ensure timely and quality food production
• Contribute ideas during kitchen briefings and menu planning when requested
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen preferred
• Passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn and grow professionally
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and adaptable team player
• Ability to work in a multicultural team and under pressure
• Familiarity with health and safety standards in food handling and kitchen cleanliness
