The Commis Chef - Grilled Section is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of grilled dishes according to restaurant standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to maintaining high levels of food quality, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, season, and grill meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetables as per the menu and chef's instructions.
Ensure all grilled items are cooked to the required standards of taste, texture, and presentation.
Assist in daily mise en place and ensure the grill station is well-prepared and stocked at all times.
Monitor the grill temperature and equipment functionality, reporting any issues to the supervisor immediately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill section and work area in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Follow portion control, waste management, and stock rotation procedures.
Support the Head Chef in overall kitchen operations and team coordination.
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and grooming requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as Commis Chef or Grill Cook in a restaurant or hospitality environment with at least 2yrs experience.
Knowledge of grilling techniques and different cuts of meat and seafood.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as per operational needs.
Candidates must be available for immediate joining.
