To assist the pastry team in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality desserts and pastry items while maintaining strict standards of hygiene, consistency, and kitchen efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Production
Assist in preparing ingredients for pastry and dessert production.
Support in baking, assembling, and plating desserts under supervision.
Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
Ensure mise-en-place is prepared accurately and on time for each service.
Operational Support
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section at all times.
Assist in receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating ingredients in line with
FIFO procedures
.
Handle tools, equipment, and kitchen utensils safely and efficiently.
Support the pastry team during peak service periods.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
Strict compliance with
food safety and HACCP standards
.
Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and stock rotation.
Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional grooming standards.
Teamwork & Communication
Work closely with senior pastry chefs to ensure smooth daily workflow.
Communicate ingredient shortages, spoilage, or equipment issues promptly.
Support colleagues when required during busy operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous kitchen experience in pastry is an advantage.
Basic understanding of baking techniques and dessert preparation.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, strong teamwork, and reliability.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended working hours.
Ability to safely handle kitchen equipment and perform repetitive tasks.
