(custom, layered, sponge, mousse-based, etc.)
Pastries
(eclairs, tarts, puff pastries, Danish)
Desserts
(plated desserts, mousses, puddings, custards)
Breads
(artisan, sourdough, brioche, focaccia, etc.)
Croissants and laminated doughs
Confectionery items
(truffles, candies, nougat, pralines)
Education & Certification:
Degree/Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or equivalent.
Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
Experience:
Minimum of
5 years
of hands-on experience in a professional pastry kitchen, bakery, or hotel.
Demonstrated experience working across all pastry sections -- baking, decorating, finishing, and plating.
Experience in high-volume production and fine-dining environments is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Mastery in advanced baking and pastry techniques (lamination, fermentation, chocolate work, sugar art, etc.).
Strong ability to create, test, and modify recipes and seasonal menus.
Knowledge of international and regional pastry trends and techniques.
Familiarity with temperature control, ingredient handling, and storage practices.
Soft Skills & Work Ethic:
Strong creativity and artistic sense for decoration and presentation.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Strong team collaboration and leadership abilities.
