Role Overview

The Commercial Fleet Manager will oversee the commercial performance of a fleet of bulk carriers, maximizing profitability and vessel utilization. This role requires expertise in chartering, voyage planning, and maritime regulations, particularly for agri and soft commodities.

Key Responsibilities

- Optimize vessel schedules and voyage planning

- Match vessels with cargoes and oversee loading and discharge

- Negotiate spot and time charter contracts and finalize agreements

- Liaise with traders, port agents, and terminal operators

- Analyze freight markets, bunker trends, and commodity flows

- Monitor voyage profit and loss and related costs

- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and manage documentation

- Collaborate with trading, legal, operations, and insurance teams

- Build and maintain strong client and authority relationships

Candidate Profile

- Experience: 5 to 10 years in commercial fleet or chartering roles, ideally in dry bulk or agri-commodities

- Education: Degree in Maritime Transport, Shipping, Business, or a related field

Skills:

- Strong commercial and negotiation skills

- Familiarity with chartering platforms such as IMOS or Veson

- Solid understanding of incoterms, laycan, demurrage, and despatch

- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional European languages is a plus
