Role Overview

The Commercial Fleet Manager will oversee the commercial performance of a fleet of bulk carriers, maximizing profitability and vessel utilization. This role requires solid experience in bulk commodity shipping (corn, barley, wheat, etc.), combined with expertise in

chartering, voyage planning, commercial analysis, and maritime operations

.

Key Responsibilities

Optimize vessel schedules and voyage planning Match vessels with cargoes and oversee loading/discharge operations Negotiate spot and time charter contracts and finalize agreements Review commercial contracts, charter parties, and voyage-related financials Liaise with traders, port agents, and terminal operators Analyze freight markets, bunker trends, and commodity flows Monitor voyage profit/loss statements and related cost performance Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and manage documentation Collaborate with trading, legal, operations, and insurance teams Build and maintain strong client and authority relationships

Candidate Profile

Experience:

5-10 years in commercial fleet or chartering roles, with hands-on experience in bulk commodities (corn, barley, wheat, etc.)

Education:

Degree in Maritime Transport, Shipping, Business, or a related field

Skills Required:

Strong commercial and negotiation acumen Proficient in analyzing financial performance and contractual terms Familiarity with chartering systems such as IMOS or Veson Deep understanding of Incoterms, laycan, demurrage, and despatch Fluent in English; Russian language is a plus (not mandatory)
