Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chinese Chef to lead the preparation and presentation of authentic Chinese cuisine. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of regional Chinese cooking styles and be capable of maintaining high standards in food quality, hygiene, and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese dishes including Cantonese, Szechuan, Hunan, and other regional specialties. Ensure consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation of all Chinese dishes. Manage day-to-day kitchen operations related to the Chinese cuisine section. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in accordance with health and safety regulations (HACCP). Oversee mise en place and ensure timely execution of dishes during service hours. Train and supervise kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and kitchen discipline. Assist in menu planning, development of new Chinese dishes, and cost control. Monitor inventory and ordering of Chinese ingredients and kitchen supplies. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation of food items.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Chinese Chef in a restaurant or hotel setting. Formal culinary training or certification is preferred. Expertise in traditional and modern Chinese cooking methods (wok, steaming, roasting, stir-fry, etc.). Familiarity with using authentic Chinese ingredients, herbs, and sauces. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and train a multicultural kitchen team. Good knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Language Requirements:

Proficiency in English (spoken & written); knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage.
