Chief Engineer – General Cargo Vessel

Job Description
Qualifications:
Valid Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer (appropriate to engine power), endorsed for Comoros flag Minimum 3 years sea service as Second Engineer on general cargo or similar vessels Marine Engineering Degree or Diploma from a recognized maritime institution Valid and up-to-date mandatory certificates CPP (Controllable Pitch Propeller) experience preferable Thorough knowledge of main engine, auxiliary machinery, boilers, pumps, and electrical systems Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems and defect reporting Strong understanding of MARPOL, pollution prevention, and engine-room safety Familiar with ISM Code, audits, inspections, and port state control requirements Ability to manage engine-room crew, spares, bunkering, and maintenance budgets Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate and Seaman's Book Good command of spoken and written English Previous experience on general cargo vessels preferred
