LUX*AL BRIDI SAFARI & LUX*KHORFAKKAN: CHIEF ENGINEER The Lux Collective is hiring for the position of CHIEF ENGINEER for its new properties based in Sharjah: LUX*AL BRIDI SAFARI & LUX*KHORFAKKAN. LUX*KHORFAKKAN, a luxurious beach resort overlooking the Gulf of Oman, immerses you in vibrant local culture. LUX*Al Bridi Safari is a restorative, contemporary safari resort in the wilderness, marking a new era of luxury living in the wild. MAIN PURPOSE Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will manage the engineering department and its activities to ensure optimal operational effectiveness and promote a safe environment across the resorts. The Chief Engineer will actively participate in developing and coordinating preventive maintenance measures related to guest rooms, public areas, back of the house, mechanical equipment, and building systems. The ideal candidate will also ensure that the resorts' premises and building systems are maintained to the highest standards to preserve maximum value and extend the properties' asset life. QUALIFICATIONS Tertiary education or degree in Engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent qualifications. Qualifications in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) will be an advantage. Postgraduate qualifications would be a definite advantage. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE At least 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry at a senior managerial level in engineering. Minimum of 5 years as Head of Engineering department. At least 3 years of experience as a Chief Engineer in the UAE. Excellent knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures, and related technologies. Experience with regulatory and documentation requirements related to engineering codes and standards. Robust experience in hotel/resort/property pre-opening and project management. OTHER REQUIREMENTS High integrity and confidentiality. Passion for service. Creative and innovative mindset. Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and develop staff. Excellent technical understanding. Proactive, dynamic, flexible, and professional with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills. Tactful and discreet. Proficient in Microsoft Office and related engineering software. Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
