The ideal candidate will ensure smooth coordination between the service, kitchen, and barista teams while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and customer service. The Cafe Manager will also be responsible for staff supervision, inventory control, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and excellent service standards.
Supervise staff performance including baristas, waiters, and kitchen assistants.
Coordinate and support the preparation and serving of
beverages (hot and cold coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, milkshakes)
and
light food items such as sandwiches, toasts, and breakfast dishes.
Monitor food and beverage quality, ensuring all items are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure compliance with
health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Manage cafe opening and closing procedures.
Staff Management:
Train, and schedule cafe staff.
Lead, motivate, and guide the team to maintain a positive work environment.
Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.
Handle staff discipline, attendance, and time management issues.
Inventory & Financial Control:
Manage inventory of ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
Place orders, receive deliveries, and maintain proper stock rotation.
Monitor daily sales, cash handling, and ensure accuracy of POS transactions.
Prepare daily and weekly sales reports for management.
Assist in controlling costs and minimizing waste.
Customer Service:
Ensure every guest receives prompt, friendly, and professional service.
Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special requests effectively.
Maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere in the cafe.
Business Development:
Support promotional activities, new menu launches, and seasonal campaigns.
Identify opportunities to improve sales, service, and customer satisfaction.
Maintain good relationships with suppliers and service providers.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a
Cafe Manager
,
Assistant Manager
, or in a supervisory role within the food & beverage industry.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of
coffee preparation, food handling, and cafe operations.
Basic understanding of financial management and inventory control.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
Education:
Diploma or Degree in
Hospitality Management
,
Culinary Arts
, or related field preferred.
Barista or Food Safety certification is an advantage.
