The Biller is responsible for ensuring smooth and accurate billing processes for patients. This includes greeting patients and verifying insurance coverage for direct billing, providing information on tariffs and services, and coordinating with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate billing. The role involves preparing and submitting patient files, handling cash transactions with clear explanation of charges, and following up with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department for approvals. Billers are also responsible for clearing uninvoiced bills, conducting bill audits, and supporting front desk functions during peak times to reduce patient wait times. Our billers are also responsible for providing top-notch customer service to all patients and customers of Mubadala Health.
Responsibilities

  • Review and validate medical records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring no missing documentation.
  • Provide feedback and training to clinical staff to improve documentation quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Assign correct ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and other relevant codes for diagnoses and procedures.
  • Assist with external audits by coordinating with auditors and providing accurate records.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to maintain compliance and improve documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians to clarify or resolve discrepancies in clinical documentation.
  • Ensure coding compliance with Department of Health regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree holder.
  • At least years of career experience in a healthcare environment within the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance processes, billing cycles, and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with medical coding standards.
  • Proficient in billing and hospital information systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic, or similar).
  • Preferably with coding certification.
