Instructional Leadership: Collaborate with the Head Teacher to provide leadership in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Support teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences aligned with educational standards and the needs of secondary students.
Staff Development: Assist in the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of teaching staff. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and promote continuous improvement.
Student Support: Oversee the academic, social, and emotional support services for secondary students. Implement strategies to address student needs, promote a positive school climate, and foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and academic achievement.
Curriculum Coordination: Collaborate with the Head Teacher and curriculum coordinators to review, develop, implement, and evaluate the secondary school curriculum. Ensure alignment with educational standards, college/university requirements, and the needs and interests of secondary students.
Parent and Community Engagement: Cultivate positive relationships with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders. Communicate effectively with families, solicit feedback, and facilitate opportunities for parental involvement in school activities, decision-making processes, and student support initiatives.
School Management: Assist in the day-to-day management of the secondary school section, including scheduling, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively with administrative staff to ensure efficient operations and a safe, supportive learning environment.
Professional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues within the secondary school section and across the broader school community. Participate in professional development activities, contribute to the school's professional learning community, and share best practices to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Skills
Previous experience in secondary education, with demonstrated effectiveness in instructional leadership and staff development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Knowledge of secondary curriculum frameworks, assessment practices, and educational policies.
