Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Asphalt Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and overseeing all on-site asphalt paving activities. This role ensures that all work is carried out in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements while managing a team of workers and coordinating with engineers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:Supervision & Execution

Plan, organize, and supervise daily asphalt paving operations on site. Ensure proper execution of asphalt works as per approved drawings and specifications. Manage the workforce, assign duties, and monitor productivity to achieve project targets. Oversee the preparation, laying, and compaction of asphalt, ensuring proper thickness, level, and smoothness.

Quality Control

Ensure asphalt mix quality meets project specifications and industry standards. Conduct inspections during and after paving to maintain quality and finish. Report any deviations, defects, or issues to the Project Engineer for corrective action.

Resource & Equipment Management

Monitor and manage the use of machinery, tools, and equipment required for asphalt works. Coordinate with the plant for timely supply of asphalt material. Ensure equipment is operated safely and maintained properly.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures on site. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings before starting daily work. Immediately report and address any unsafe practices, accidents, or hazards.

Coordination & Reporting

Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and other site supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. Prepare and submit daily progress reports, including material usage, manpower, and equipment logs. Communicate effectively with management and provide updates on site challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred). Minimum

5+ years of experience

in supervising asphalt paving operations. Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, machinery, and quality control standards. Familiarity with road construction specifications and drawings. Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
