Mark Williams is currently working with a large FMCG entity based in Dubai for their recruitment needs. The Analytics & Data Head is responsible to lead the function.
Responsibilities:
- Create comprehensive, long-term strategies for business units, functions, and local operating companies - Formulate a holistic strategy and transformation plan to support the company\'s business objectives and advance the digital and technological maturity of its divisions, brands, and functional units - Develop a priority list of digital and technology projects to implement the business strategy, promoting growth, customer engagement, operational efficiency, and improved risk management and sustainability - Collaborate with relevant teams across the organization to assess current operations, identify opportunities, and create action plans to seize them - Establish and execute a flexible operating and sourcing model for the domain that optimally leverages internal and external resources - Build the data infrastructure and analytical capabilities necessary for digital transformation - Design and spearhead the development of the company\'s data and analytics capabilities, including determining the balance between in-house and external resources - Guide the creation of data architecture and analytics infrastructure, incorporating a shared innovation methodology and network for exchanging best practices, tools, and key resources - Implement data and analytics governance structures, policies, and standards to guide decision-making and ensure consistency - Stay current with emerging data protection regulations and maintain compliance with international regulations as needed - Develop a data security strategy that includes plans and measures to safeguard data according to its classification - Provide efficient and effective data and analytics services to all businesses, functions, and operating companies, including data science resources and services - Develop and communicate a vision, strategy, and agile operating model for the domain that aligns with the company\'s goals - Supervise the portfolio of data and analytics-driven initiatives that support digital transformation - Oversee the ongoing improvement of the data and analytics environment to enhance outcomes and harness data as a competitive advantage - Ensure the stability, security, and service quality of operational systems while optimizing data and analytics expenditures to capitalize on technological advancements and cost management - Define clear responsibilities and objectives for the department, promoting flexible, agile, and user-centric management and governance practices - Manage the domain\'s vendor strategy, setup, and delivery of handbooks, best practices, and guidelines - Provide IT services through a combination of internal and external resources, including data standards definition, data standard governance, data cleansing, extract/transform/load, archiving, data quality, data management, data discovery, and more
Requirements:
- Stellar academic accomplishments in Data, with certifications - Proven history implementing large scale analytics/data management programs - Over 15 years of work experience, ideally with top-tier consultancies - Currently playing a leadership role within the Data domain - Working within the FMCG sector is a plus - Working within retail, or similar consumer-focused industry is a plus - Experience working within a large multinational is preferred
