Accounts Specialist
Job Description
Collect and analyze financial and accounting data, prepare the necessary specialized reports, and submit them to the direct supervisor
Prepare annual budget estimates and submit them to organizational unit managers to determine financial needs
Provide all necessary financial information regarding projected financial performance and budget shortfalls.
Review budgets to ensure they comply with approved financial instructions, regulations, and controls.
Primary review of all financial transactions related to revenues, expenses, and insurance.
Review the accounting guidance for all budget items by monitoring general entries and disbursement vouchers.
Monitor the implementation of laws, procedures, and regulations related to accounting and budgeting.
Follow up on bank reconciliations, which are accomplished by matching book balances with bank balances and then resolving any outstanding issues, if any.
Implement necessary amendments to budget items after obtaining approval from the Finance Department.
Ensure monthly and annual account closures and follow up on any necessary financial reconciliations.
Contribute to the preparation of the annual inventory of the department's fixed and consumable assets.
Directly supervise the preparation of the final accounts.
Monitor the performance of accountants in the Accounts and Budget Department and submit related reports to the department head.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Accounting. * At least 6 years of practical experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and final accounts.
