- Accountant (Restaurant & Holiday Homes Business)

Reporting to: Finance Manager / Director, Operations

Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and initiative-taking Accountant to manage the financial operations of both our restaurant business and short-term holiday rental company. The candidate will be responsible for accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, cost control, and ensuring smooth financial processes across both segments.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain daily bookkeeping records accurately and up to date. Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments. Record and reconcile daily sales and revenue entries. Post daily bank entries and prepare reconciliations with bank statements. Prepare food cost sheets and manage inventory control systems. Manage VAT and Corporate Tax filings in compliance with UAE regulations. Assist external auditors by providing required documentation and schedules. Oversee daily cash closing and ensure cash handling compliance. Prepare monthly MIS reports, stock closing, and variance analysis. Monitor supplier payments and maintain strong vendor relationships. Record rental income and reconcile it with booking platforms and systems. Update and monitor the room/property management system daily. Reconcile room/property management system data with accounting records. Ensure timely landlord rental payouts and share payout statements. Track customer refunds, cancellations, and booking adjustments. Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for both businesses. Conduct variance analysis between budgets, forecasts, and actual performance. Manage petty cash and ensure accurate accountability across outlets/units. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards, VAT, and corporate tax laws. Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

Master's/bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality and F&B. Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax, and UAE financial regulations. Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, ERP systems, and Room Management software). Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and manage operations across two business lines. Excellent communication skills in English.
